Hilary's is a diamond in the rough. I almost don't want to give this review because I don't want this hole-in-the-wall to get too crowded. The restaurant is humble. Don't let that fool you. If you want delicious food, generous portions, reasonable prices, and outstanding service, this is the spot. The menu is big and is filled with hearty comfort foods, and New York deli favorites. Breakfast, lunch or dinner, you can't lose. A friend and I just hosted our childrens' graduation party there. When we arrived, the tables were set up perfectly, and the waitress took our orders quickly, scanned the room repeatedly, and delivered our orders perfectly. I will never give another dime to a chain like Toojays, when there's Hilary's. Pros: Great food, and awesome prices and service. Cons: Don't judge a book by its cover. The outside is a little dated. To me, it's part of its charm. If you are snooty and not that hungry, this is not the spot for you.

My husband and I went here at 11 am on a Sunday morning and will not be going back.. I got the Eggs Benedict, the poached eggs were missing all of the whites and the home fried and tasted like oil. They were deep fried yuck!! The English muffin was even bleh (certainly not a Thomas) My husband got the sausage gravy over biscuits. The biscuits were hard and the gravy lacked any flavor and tasted comparable to McDonald's.

This is the closest you're going to get to Katz' or Wolfie's in this area. It doesn't have the Deli selection of, say, TooJays or Gourmet Deli but the quality of what they serve is the same or better and the prices are a much better value. The matzo ball soup is top drawer; the beef w/ barley soup is right on the money! The corned beef is excellent - 2nd maybe only to The Pickle Barrel in Deerfield Beach. Very good nova platter and all their breakfasts are always v. good. Yes: it's VERY retro, yes the decor is v. basic but they have 50's music playing that I guarantee you won't hear anywhere else! The service? LIGHTEN UP... this isn't the Ritz Carlton or the Gazebo: it's a DELI and ur getting lots of really good food for a great price... you're only going to be disappointed with the service if you have unrealistic expectations. Relax... you're going to have a good meal!!

Cheap and quick. I didn't have much except for a bagel and cream cheese. A friend of mine had an omelette and our food was good. The friendly staff made sure we were happy and it was a nice visit not to have to rush ourselves during the meal. It's not fancy on the decor part, but the homestyle cooking makes up for it.

Excellent Nova Salmon Breakfast. Definitely a home cooked meal. The service is speedy and courteous as well. All in all a very pleasant casual breakfast.

The service is not impeccable but adequate. The waitresses are less than friendly to a degree, but perhaps we would all be a little crabby given the demographic they serve. This is a low - end residential area and the restaurant is in a slightly seedy, but safe, shopping center. The kitchen produces food quickly and the portions are generous. The corned beef and pastrami rival any in the state and the dinner specials are real bargains. The decor is abysmal but the place is clean enough. The value is there and the food is good to very good. It does resemble a nursing home's dining room, but there are a fair number of working people there at lunch. We go frequently for quality though simple food at low prices. Many of our Wellington friends refuse to go because of the area and the reputed poor service. The place used to be less than clean but that has been addressed; I am very particular about cleanliness and a harsh judge in that area.. The place is old, definitely tacky and worn but try it for fresh, home cooked food served hot. Ignore the surroundings and forgive the waitresses - judge it on value and the taste and quality of the food.

One word. Disgusting. Went here while working for breakfast so my beloved did not have to suffer through this. Coffee was absolutely terrible. Ordered egg whites, pancakes and bacon. The bacon was not palatable. Eggs looked like something, what I am not sure. Pancakes were fair at best. Service was not that great. Old lady who wanted to talk about her retired something than take care of us. Decor was pathetic. With a myriad of other places to go for breakfast I can guarantee I will not be back ever.

Food is great, price can't be beaten, but the service and decor could really use some work. The waitresses, while not downright mean, don't really scream "inviting".....and the decor is run-down and tacky.

Home style cooking, friendly staff. Fresh fish dinner the other night and went there today for brunch.. Had the Greek Omelette... all fresh ingredients.. Very good service as well...

Super high quality pastrami and corned beef, and very good home-made (they claim) rye bread. BUT .. overall lackluster service. Okay, I was in Florida visiting my Dad. He tells me about this place that has "The best corned beef south of 2nd Avenue." We go. First off, this is NOT a deli in the classic sense of the word. No pickles on the table, no salamis hanging from the ceiling, and don't expect tons of deli side dishes. As far as I could tell, no knishes, or kasha, or blintzes, etc. It's more like a diner / breakfast or lunch place that happens to have GREAT DELI MEATS in addition to the usual eggs, pancakes, hamburgers, etc. I give the food - the corned beef, the pastrami and the rye bread - five stars. Really top grade, delicious quality stuff. Not too fatty, not too lean, just right. Bread has a wonderful texture and consistency. The Service? Fuggeddaboudit! OMG, I'm no stranger to surly waitresses, and frankly I don't even mind a bit off surliness as long as you can back it up with good "watiress-ability." But the two women that served our table were less than useless, messing peoples' orders up, and asking, as they brought out each dish, "Who ordered the eggs? Who ordered the pancakes? Who ordered the combo?" I mean, you DID write down our orders, I saw you do it. Could you not have made a chart showing the guy at the top of the table ordered the eggs, and then work your way around clockwise from that? Was it ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY to BELLOW as you brought out each plate? I dont' know if it was close to closing time and they just wanted to get out of there, but it wasn't like "we're trying to be funny and we're gonna bust your balls a little bit, but underneath it all we're going to give you great service." It was more like, "We don't give a damn, now who gets the sandwich I'm holding? Speak up, or I'm going to give it to someone else." THEN, we she did bring the wrong sandwich to the wrong guy, she berated him into keeping it. They didn't even know what they were bringing out from the kitchen - was it a combo, or was it straight pastrami? Why don't YOU tell ME, since you were the one who just back there with the people who made the freakin' sandwich? I'm just saying, if you're a waitress, you job entails more than simply bringing the food from the kitchen to the table. 'cause honestly, I'd rather someone simply called out from the kitchen "Table six, your order is ready!" and I would've had a much better time getting up and bringing nine plates to our table than to deal with you two charming hostesses again. I get better service in restaurants where the wait staff doesn't speak English than I did from these folks. I should mention, by the way, that they HEAP ON THE MEAT all for a very reasonable price: I think the combo (Corned Beef and Pastrami) was maybe $8.50, and most of the people at our table could only eat half. (I had no problem finishing mine, but that should come as no surprise to anyone who knows me.) In summary: deli meats? Awesome quality, very fairly priced. Service? Annoying, horrible. Zero stars. Maybe the trick here is a) don't got with more than two other people, or b) just order take out / to go.

I wouldn't say this is the nicest place around, but what it doesn't have in class, it makes up for in charm. If you're looking for a typical deli style restaraunt, this is definitely the place. The servers are all really warm as is the atmosphere of the entire place. The food is inexpensive, good, and the portions are huge. It has the typical breakfast menu, but lunch time gets interesting with Jewish deli style meals which can be anything from liver to corned beef and brisket. Quite the selection.

Waitresses have no personality and act like your bothering them when I asked them for a new glass of iced tea because I asked for no lemon and there was lemon in it and the cup was filthy on the inside. I ordered a Greek salad with grilled chicken on top with no feta cheese , no onions, and please add tomatoes. they brought my salad with diced tomatoes that looks like they've been sitting around for a week, tons of onions on top and feta cheese on top. took forever to get the waitress back because she dumped the food in front of us and took off in the other direction before I could say anything. so when she came back finally I told her about the salad and she removed it and brought it back in the kitchen and I saw her physically Dig her dirty fingers in my salad and remove things. then turned around and brought it back to me. I was livid. the owner came over to see what the commotion was about and I told her what the waitress dead and she stood by her waitress and said no she didn't do that and blah blah blah. so they brought me yet another salad exactly the same way...... what part of no cheese and no onions don't these people understand???? but I've been here several times before and when they are good they are very good. all the waitresses are much older and just have miserable looks on their faces, they look exhausted and look like they do not want to be there. The sandwiches are good most of the time. with so many restaurants around this is not somewhere that I choose to go first.
